Enchanted Colouring Proof Arrived!

Happy Mail today!

The printed proof arrived today of my first colouring book "Enchanted Colouring" and I'm literally bursting with excitement. After chasing the postman last week to see if he had any post for me, it came today and I was definitely feeling a bit nervous opening it but I shouldn't have been I love it. The front cover looks great and I hope it invites people to start colouring. 

Once I have sent written approval the books should then be printed and delivered, all which should take about 2 weeks. I will set up a pre-order option in my Nog Pepper Me Etsy shop this week. It's all happening now!

Exciting News - First Colouring Book Enchanted Colouring

It might have been a little while but Nog Pepper Me are back with a loud Meow!!

I have very exciting news, after what turned out to be a difficult year for me health wise and personally I am hoping 2016 will be better as I will soon be launching my first Colouring Book called "Enchanted Colouring". 

Enchanted Colouring is full of dragons, pixies, fairies, warrior cats and their armoured owls. It's an enchanted world of colouring and I am so excited to finally nearly be there. The order has gone in for my first print run of 100 books and I hope to have them in the next couple of weeks.

I am setting up my Etsy shop and website and enjoying colouring in my very own designs from the colouring book.

I hope you like the first images I've coloured in. There's lots more, nearly 40 illustrations in total and I can't wait to see what everyone does with them. Each illustration has been designed and drawn by myself. They all start out as pencil and I then add ink and detail where needed. Each illustration is then scanned in and printed out to check. There are no repeating designs or images, each one is carefully thought out with designs ranging from simple to more complex. I hope this gives a nice balance depending on how much time you have and how stressed you might feel at the time. 

I recommend using coloured pencils, these are my favourite medium and I have used Faber Castell Polychromos. Which have a rich pigment and are great for blending and layering colours. They are also very strong and can with stand applying pressure for a rich colour. 

I plan to keep everyone posted on when it will be available to buy. I am so excited about this and hope it's the first book of many more to come. I've got so many ideas in my head and can't wait to get started on the next one.

First Kitten Design

Well it's been very busy here at Nog Pepper Me headquarters. I've been working on my first kitten cross stitch pattern and possible future kit. I've been stitching at every possible moment but been dragged down by migraines, yuk but I'm getting there and you can really see now how well the design has worked as a cross stitch pattern. This being the first pattern I've attempted using recently purchased software. So what's all the fuss!

This is the front page, I've literally picked one of Andy's fabulous photos of beautiful Jomo at 4 weeks old.

I'm really pleased with how little Jomo is coming along. It's really captured her. I'm hoping to have the pattern available soon as digital download and possibly as a kit, with a number of different options. I'm loving doing this. It's so very addictive seeing her cheeky face come to life out of the fabric and threads. It's cross stitch magic!

First Cross Stitch! Fat Cat by Mouseloft

Well I've always wondered about cross stitch as both my sister and auntie have done some lovely designs over the years. My auntie made my brother, sister and I all gorgeous birth charts when we were born. My sister also completed a mini design for me too which I still have somewhere. I think with the revival and new fresh designs out there and I've been sketching some possible future cross stitch designs I wanted to give it a try. So a trip to local craft shop at a garden centre where we just had to eat cake! I looked at all the cross stitch kits and my mum spotted "Fat Cat" design by Mouseloft. Well with being owned by Nog who is on the little bit plump side and he's cream (red) coloured and it was only small and only £2.50 for a first attempt I thought cool lets give it a try! So mum treated me to my first cross stitch kit and this is what it contained:

The front cover showing the design in colour, the chart, threads, cloth and needle. Mum also got me a small hoop but it wasn't small enough and in the end I didn't need it as the design was only small and I managed ok. The cloth was folded again to find the centre.

I couldn't wait to get started and this was where I finished after my first evening. I learnt to work in sections down. So started from the Middle with the cream and then the yellow main colour I moved down and around the cream. I then completed 4 rows up at time. This seemed to work best with the thread length. Once the main colour was finished it was easy to add in the Orange tabby markings and the White for tail tip and feet. Lastly the black and green for eyes and his nose.

This is "Fat Cat" with all cross stitch completed and only back stitch left to do.

Finished "Fat Cat" with backstitch completed and I'm really pleased with it! Not bad for a first go!

Review

Pros: It was a great beginners project and was clear to follow. Plus you get everything you need to start. Cute design. Cheap starter project but looks great finished.

Cons: Threads provided were quite short and I had to renew often but not a disaster and I am prone to making threads to long which tangle.

Recommended Products To Use: I used Thread Heaven to condition the thread and a plastic thread holder to keep tidy the thread I was using. I also use a wonder clip on the end of the threads for when I am separating strands. This stops them tangling.

Overall: Loved it! Really enjoyed my first cross stitch project and the design is cute!

Hello!

Hello!

Well finally started that blog about my craft adventures and gosh it's a warm day to start. I think with all this lovely weather Nog has slightly burnt ears! I thought it would be Pepper as she is a little sun worshiper. I think he will need a little sun hat before the summer is finished!

Anyway just a short post because well I think the sun has sucked all my life and energy out of me! Plus I wanted to get this blog going and there's lots more to share in the near future so see ya soon!
