About

Welcome to Nog, Pepper and Me!

Here we will share our adventure with crafts from embroidery to needle felt and all things Nog and Pepper, the two American Curls who I am lucky to share my life with. Oh and not forgetting The Hubster Andy. They fill me encouragement to keep on trying and loads of ideas.

Nog is a Cream and White, and Pepper is a Black and White both awesome American Curls who share their love with me daily and help with projects along the way.

My life has seen it's share of ups and downs, after working for many years in IT going from Database Junior to Business Intelligence Manager I hit a crisis in my life which ultimately destroyed my ability to do the job I once loved. After being diagnosed with various auto-immune issues and a chronic pain condition. I struggled with everyday activities and I was losing myself to something I couldn't control and being so used to managing projects and task orientated I really saw no hope, until I found needle felting and I loved it. Yes I struggled with the same conditions but I had a purpose and I could sketch ideas and see them emerge from bits of wool and it helped focus my mind on something other than the pain. It was literally life saving. From needle felting to knitting to sewing and even tried crochet which definitely needs more help, I've started to see possibilities in rebuilding part of my life. No it's not the stress, excitement, financial rewards or all guns blazing of IT but I love creating and crafting and maybe I will be able to share some of my creations with others and add a bit of Nog, Pepper and Me to their lives!

Since the end of 2015 I've been working on designing and creating a Colouring Book. I first read about Colouring Books being used as art therapy in 2011. At the time I was struggling with my day job and it wasn't until 2015 I started to use colouring in as a way to help myself cope with my ill-health and the stress it caused to my everyday living. This woke an old desire in me to start drawing again and I started to put down on paper all those ideas I'd had in my head for such a long time. I drew dragons, fairies, castles, pixies and of course one of my true loves cats, in-particular the Siberians we share our lives with. That's when my husband came up with the title of "Enchanted Colouring" for my colouring book. I then started to look into how I could print some copies and then self publish to Amazon. So in spring 2016 we are just waiting for our first copies of Enchanted Colouring and then a new adventure will start...
